Your Online Guide To Dating And Relationships

Parents need lov'in too.

All parents for the most part are the same, they are selfless, loving and always put their kids before themselves at all times. They have instinct in raising their little ones and have a gentle and caring demeanor that can instantly turn into a wild animal if something or someone threatens the wellbeing of their offspring. Yes parents are amazing creatures, but when it comes to dating, can be not only daunting but almost impossible for some.

What parent whom is with their children 24/7 has the time for romance, dates and let alone actually getting away with someone for some down time? No, not many, but that leads us to the next part of single parent dating. You are not alone! After being a single parent at the end of the day and rushing around like crazy with sports, school and of course your own job, there is little, actually no - time for yourself.

As I covered in our divorcing dater's article, single parenting online dating is much the same where individuals that may find themselves newly single are now newly single with children. Lets face it, bringing little Johnny along on a romantic evening while he interrupts every two minutes and makes noises for the mere pleasure of it isn't exactly your or your dates idea of a terrific evening. Parents need to have time to them selves and this includes getting themselves "out there" for dating as well. Online dating for single parents is so easy and convenient it's a wonder they don't have a site for just parents…oh wait, they do! There is a sure fire sign that you are not the only one out there trying to get a babysitter so you can sit and have adult conversation!

The fact that online dating allows you to chat and meet people online at your convenience from the comfort of your home is amazing on its own - who would want conventional dating now a days when there is online dating?

Parents need to explore the possibilities of bringing romance back into their lives, just because they are parents does not mean that they should spend the rest of their lives alone with a significant other - they will become better people and better parents when they are fulfilled in all aspects.

Now that you have joined an online dating site and have enjoyed establishing some online relationships with others, how do you arrange meeting them if you want to? No, you are not bringing the kids! I have put some pointers together that hopefully will help.

You can no longer use the kids as an excuse when it comes to romance. The steps to take when being a single parent are to be taken carefully, so use your head when meeting potentials.

When meeting someone for the first time you need to be honest about the fact that you have children and the fact that they are a major part of your life no matter who comes into your life, don't do it in such a way that someone is going to feel threatened by the kids but they should be fairly warned.

Make sure that when your date interest loves kids as well; try a little test to ensure their honesty. After all, if they don't pass your little test then why would you want to take it any farther?

Your kids do not need to know every dating detail that there is from you, but they do need honesty that you are going out and meeting people so you are not alone. When things have gotten to the point where you are comfortable introducing your date interest to your kids do so with maybe the openness of a group activity where the kids are distracted by the outing as opposed to the individual that you are with. Kids are smart and they know when you are protecting them or covering something up, so there is no need introducing your date to your kids as someone insignificant.

Online dating is so convenient that you can also make it something that an older child can be involved in as well, as long as you are careful to outline how cautious you are being while meeting people online as to not send and unsafe signal to your teen. Small children would not understand this and you are better off to keep things along the simple line of things.

In front of your kids, keep the affection to a bare minimum. They after all still need to be respected as kids and what they need to know. It doesn't take a brilliant kid to figure out why there is a member of the opposite sex underwear in the laundry pile - so try and keep it under wraps if you have now a bed partner. You don't want kids to repeat what they have seen and you also don't want any reason for hard feelings if the children feel as though someone is taking your time away from them in the bedroom of all things.

We all have been in embarrassing situations with our kids, and the better your date handles it the better sense of relief you will have when it comes to little moments with children. The fact that your new love interest starts with the disciplining or complaining that the kids are not behaving what "they" want is an indication that this relationship maybe not be going as well as you thought. Remember about how important the kids are to you, and don't let anyone else threaten that sense of security for them. They do not want to feel as though they have lost you to someone else and now that someone else gets to tell them what to do. Tread this path very carefully as to ward off some hard feelings on both parties.

Your children will eventually adjust to the fact that you have found a new partner, and if you are aware of everyone's feeling just like a parent who is familiar with a "juggling" act, then you will fare well. Kids will start to respect your partner listen to them and vice versa and lo and behold you have now just entered romance as a single parent in online dating!
