Dating Tips - What not to do on a first date.

Don't be late - if you are phone ahead to let your date know that you are profusely sorry and make sure there is a good reason. Remember you are trying to make a good first impression.

Don't talk about yourself more than anyone - you should be taking this time to get to know your date and they will in turn be asking you questions as well.

Don't talk about the horrible exes. - Not only will this make you look like there is a reason why there are so many exes, they will also think you are not over any them. This person is not responsible for how you were treated in the past and it will only make them feel uncomfortable.

Don't forget your manners - We were raised with manners of please, thank you and pass the salt so please use them. Imagine if your date spit their food out on their plate or ate with their mouth open of how mortified you would be so don't do it to them.

Don't get too personal - Asking a lot of questions is of course important, but make sure they are the right ones. If you start asking too many personal questions on a first date you are running the risk that a person is going to clam up or think you are a stalker or something. Try and keep it light.

Don't be Fake - You would not want to go out with someone that has just told you various untrue things about themselves only to find out the opposite so this works both ways. Don't be ashamed of who you are and most importantly be yourself.

Don't forget to be thankful towards your date- this person like you has just taken the time to get to know you and meet you so have again some manners and thank them for their time. Even if you plan on never seeing this person again, it doesn't hurt to make another human feel good about their evening.

Don't come across too strong - This is neither the time nor the place to start talking about marriage or kids unless you want the person to run and hide. To expect an answer or conversation on this will be uncomfortable for you both.

Don't expect more than a date - A few drinks, a nice meal and nice conversation will get you��a date silly. Not sex. Keep your hands to yourself and be a gentleman or Lady and wait to see what your dates' reaction is to hand holding first before you try and bed them.

Don't get drunk - You could either turn off your date by getting drunk and thinking you are irresponsible or open yourself up to some unwanted advances. Be careful and don't get carried away with alcohol - remember you are still with somewhat of a stranger.

Don't be a stalker - If you had a wonderful date with an individual and then they politely said no thank you to getting to know during another date, take it verbatim. It means no. That does not give you permission to pursue them further and stalk them to pressure them into thinking they made a mistake about you, it only reinforces their decision and you find yourself in the back of a police cruiser quickly.
